About DROPOUT

A high school reunion is about to get down and dirty and a whole lot more complicated in this new erotic romance from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.
Grayson Cleary left town before graduation day and never looked back. Most people back home pegged him as a dropout. Over time, he’s worked to make something of his life and leave his past behind, so when his ten-year reunion comes up, he has no intention of attending. When his best friend begs him to go, Grayson finds himself confronted with a past he’d rather forget and the one woman he’s always craved.
Kate St. Dalton had everything when she left her hometown. Not only was she Valedictorian with a full scholarship, but she was also engaged to the boy of her dreams. Then, life threw a wrench in her plans, and she had to find a way to live the new life fate handed her. The last thing she needs is the hot boy from high school returning to town as the sexy man of her dreams.
When the two take a chance and use the reunion week to burn up the sheets, they’ll have to remember that it’s only for a few nights—not for a lifetime. And decide if what they have is just a fling…or something far more than a mere reunion.

A Lady's Code of Misconduct (Rules for the Reckless, #5)A Lady's Code of Misconduct by Meredith Duran

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A LADY'S CODE OF MISCONDUCT centers around the story of Jane Mason and Crispin Burke. Crispin Burke is a political associate of Jane's Uncle Philip and doesn't seem to be a very nice person. Ok.. he's horrible. But you never really know what has happened to a person to make them the way they are. Jane is the heir to her father's fortune and her uncle is trying to get control of it because he thinks he deserves it. She's desperately trying to get out of her uncle's house (and out of marrying her cousin) so that she can be free to go and do what she wants.

This story captivated me from the first chapter. It's like an E ticket rollercoaster ride with ups and downs, twists and turns. The characters seem so real it's like they were playing out their story just for me.

Meredith Duran is a new-to-me author and she has a new fan. I recommend this book to anyone who loves the tortured hero, enemies to lovers or plain Jane (no pun intended) heroines.

I received a copy of this ebook from the publisher via Netgalley for my honest, unbiased review.

SECOND CHANCE MARQUESS ~ Jessica Jefferson ~ Book Blast and Review~

When Wilhemina Turner’s younger sister runs off with a young Lothario, she has no choice but to turn to the notorious rake who broke his promise and her heart, for assistance. George Bartlett, the Marquess of Chesterton, hasn’t forgotten the woman who hurt him so many years ago, but can’t deny her request, knowing that his brother’s reputation, and fortune, is at risk. A series of misfortunes leave the straight-laced widow and committed bachelor stranded, sharing both close quarters and old secrets. But when morning comes, will this unlikely pair find a second chance at love?

“Fine.” He looked away first, turning his attention back to the items he’d collected upon his desk. “If you want to join me, then you may.”

She squared her shoulders and stood a bit straighter having won their duel of wills. “Good.”
Without another word or a single glance, Chesterton left the room.

Not one to be left behind, Wilhelmina hurried after him, through the study and up the stairs.

“Where are we going?” she asked once they’d reached the top, breathless from the burst of activity.

He strode down the corridor, seemingly unaffected by the brisk climb. “To my bedroom.”

She immediately stopped. “Your bedroom? Why ever would we go in there?”

Chesterton turned back to her, one sardonic eyebrow arched high. “To change,” he answered. “You didn’t expect me to head out in this, did you?” He turned and continued toward the room, looking back at her before entering. “Are you coming?” he asked, voice smooth as warm chocolate.

This wasn’t the first time she’d been lured into George’s bedroom. He’d been an earl, the courtesy title bestowed upon him at birth, but more than that, he’d been a gentleman. Apparently, he’d lost that when he’d inherited the Marquisate. His bedroom was no longer an inviting sanctuary, and this invitation was not one of love as it had once been, but a lewd proposition, tenderness replaced by cruelty, as he watched expectantly for her reaction.

“I don’t think that’ll be necessary,” she stuttered, trying in vain to remain calm and collected as he started to untie the sash about his waist holding his robe closed. He let it fall to the ground and the robe opened, revealing his chest and torso in all its naked glory.

And it was indeed glorious.

She quickly averted her glance, whipping her head around and staring attentively at the painting on the wall.

“Is something the matter, Mrs. Turner?”

She was not about to play this game. She didn’t have the time, and he didn’t deserve the enjoyment it would undoubtedly bring him to see her suffer so. And most importantly, she couldn’t play because she knew good and well that she had no chance of winning.

4*
Second Chance Marquess is the story of Wilhelmina (Willie) Turner and George Bartlett, the Marquess of Chesterton. They are on a mission to find their siblings who have run away together, presumably to marry.....
I really liked this book. It was a short read and my first by Ms. Jefferson.  There was a couple of times I wanted to yell at Willie, but that just added to the character of the book.  Don't let the small size fool you, a lot happens in this book. It definitely has some ups and downs.
The characters are well developed, and the overall story is great.
I was given a copy of this book for my honest, unbiased  opinion

Review ~ The Mad Countess ~ Erica Monroe

The Mad Countess (Darkest Regency #1)The Mad Countess by Erica Monroe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Mad Countess by Erica Monroe is set in Cornwall in the year 1811. This is my first read by Erica Monroe and it won't be the last. This novella is the perfect " read in one afternoon by the pool" book. It's light with a touch of the paranormal and romance.
The main characters are Lady Claire Deering and Theodore "Teddy" Lockwood, Earl of Ashbrooke. Teddy is just adorable with his scholarly innocence and sweet temperament. Claire is held back and reserved because of her fear of turning mad like her mother and aunt. They are childhood friends that have a hidden love for each other. Teddy is reluctant to confess because he thinks she'll turn him down and Claire is dead set on becoming a spinster because of the madness. Teddy's refusal to give up on her is pretty much the heart of the story.
I'm excited to see what's next in this series and until then I will be reading more books by Ms. Monroe.

A copy of this novella was given to me by the publisher via netgalley for the my honest, unbiased review.

Review of THE DARING DUKE by Jess Michaels!

The Daring Duke (The 1797 Club #1)The Daring Duke by Jess Michaels

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I couldn't put this down!

THE DARING DUKE is the first book in Jess Michaels new 1797 Club series. And I'm so glad I found it! The series centers around 10 young men that are in line for their respective dukedoms. They have formed the 1797 Club while at boarding school with James Rylon, The Duke of Abernathe as the leader. He has a pretty crappy childhood and is in need of some support and guidance.
James is the first to come into his dukedom. He's sworn off marriage after his parents marriage was such a disaster. He's a born leader, handsome, bold, a wild child and in Emma's words golden.
Emma is a wallflower, plain (in her eyes) and a bluestocking. She doesn't think these are marriageable qualities. She also has a way of assuming things that aren't true and that doesn't work in her favor.
I thought this book was really good, a awesome start to what I hope is a fantastic series, The characters are nicely developed and well written with a side of witty banter. I'm excited for the next release which is Simon's book!

Glencoe Scotland 1603

BEDDING THE HIGHLANDER is part of James Pattersons Bookshots Flames. They are original romances that are hand picked Patterson himself, which I thought was pretty cool. Not quite a novel, but bigger than a novella. I started it at night and had to finish the next day or I could've read it in one "shot".
This story puts a new spin on the arranged marriage story line. It was a great story all in all. It has very likable main characters and even secondary characters, except for the dad and brother of course. There are a few steamy scenes but they are done tastefully. I highly recommend this book to all Scottish romance readers.

FIRESTORM IS HERE!!

Firestorm (Dragon Kings, #10)Firestorm by Donna Grant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

FIRESTORM is the latest, much anticipated book 10 in the Dragon Kings series. Donna Grant does not disappoint! I had a hard time keeping my jaw off the floor. Oh the revelations!!!!
Truth be told, I just wanna crawl in this universe and live. It's full of mystery, suspense, danger, magic, Dragons, Druids, Fae and Highlanders. What more could you ask for?!?
It starts off with a gut wrenching prologue that almost had me in tears then proceeds to take you on a rollercoaster ride that will keep you totally enthralled. I honestly think I read it record time. I couldn't put it down nor could I read fast enough.
Since this is book 10 in the series, I'm not sure you can jump in and start from here since it is a rather complex storyline. I DO, however highly recommend this series starting from Dark Heat which is book 1.

The Rakehell's Seduction review

The Rakehell's Seduction (Seduction #2)The Rakehell's Seduction by Lauren Smith

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

THE RAKEHELLS SEDUCTION is the 2nd book in Lauren Smith's SEDUCTION series. I loved this book on sooo many levels. Her writing is superb as usual. I fell in love with the characters immediately. They are so well written and seem so real. The story flows like a movie. And I loved the mention of The League of Rogues! My curiosity is definitely piqued as to who Lady Society is. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer!

Official Release! Hear the story of Captain Hook from his own lips in this Audible version of "Hook's Little Mermaid."

“Hook wasn't always a villain. Discover what leads him on the path of destruction and how the love of a mermaid can change his heart.” ~ Hook's Little Mermaid

Captain James Hook was once a good man trying to make a somewhat honest living. He is a pirate, after all. However, after getting word that a boy named Peter Pan played a part in the death of a dear loved one, Hook makes it his sole purpose to hunt down and destroy the fiend.

On his journey for vengeance, the captain encounters many new comrades, including a young girl named Red and a fairy called Tinker Bell, and both push him to reconsider his desire for justice.

The accidental rescue of a mermaid leads him on a whirlwind adventure in Neverland. The journey is not a simple one, considering Pan, the Lost Boys, mermaids, and magic all come into play. After several misadventures, Hook must choose between the possibility of a new life with love and his much-desired retaliation against Pan.

Once everything is said and done, will the captain be able to overcome his need for revenge? Will he let compassion steer him toward love? Or will Captain Hook live up to his villainous reputation?

This is the first book I've read by Ms. Lynn and I was pleasantly surprised. I love how she meshed together the untold stories of Peter Pan/Capt. Hook/The Little Mermaid with a dash of Little Red Riding Hood.
Capt. Jameson Shaw is seeking his revenge on the person he feels is responsible for the death of his only son. In order to see this through he has a few hoops he must jump through because the person is none other than Peter Pan.
The cast of characters and dialogue was enough to keep me glued to the pages. Hook is charismatic, thoughtful, and even caring! Remember this is pre hook!
Narration: The narration was seamless with a good range of voices. I could easily tell the difference between the characters.
I'm looking forward to the next installment of this series!
